5 quick and easy ways you can Make a "Wildlife" Conservation Difference. WHY even save Endangered species?
"In the end, we conserve only what we love.
We will love only what we understand.
We will understand only what we are taught."
– Baba Dioum, Senegalese poet
Wishing you had a way to save wildlife from your current location and short free time in life?
Yes, even the iconic American Bison were once on the endangered species list. Crazy right?
In this post I'll share with you 5 "quick and easy" ways to get involved in saving endangered wildlife species.
What does it matter if animals large, small or every size make and model in between are here or not? I mean since life began species have come and gone on earth right?
So why spend precious money on saving any of them?
How do we as a society benefit from protecting them?
United States Congress addressed some of these questions, in the preamble to the Endangered Species Act of 1973,
recognizing that endangered species of fish, wildlife and plants “are esthetic, ecological, educational, historical, recreational, and scientific value to the nation and it's people.”
"Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed"
While of course extinctions do occur naturally. Scientific evidence strongly suggests that the current rate of extinction is much higher than before humans appeared on Earth.
Due to modern human activity (that is you and me..plastics,oil,deforestation, self loathing consumersim, etc..) this rate may multiply by 10 times over the next hundred years! Wow wow
Conservation actions Have Made a Difference and so can YOURS
NO CREATURE (Humans included) EXISTS in ISOLATION
The Endangered Species Act has help prevent 99% of species listed as endangered or threatened from becoming extinct! Let that soak in....we/you can "make a difference".
